Education: this is a policy and administrative area in which we at Strategic Research Inc. not only care passionately but also it is a sector to which we bring extensive personal experience.
Teaching: Sandberg has taught in private and public high schools in the United States, including alternative schools. She has taught in private universities/colleges since 1986. She has been a visiting academic in the United States in large state schools and overseas in universities in Southern African countries. She has been an Academic Associate in foundation or institute sponsored outreach programs that promote specific approaches to pedagogy or a specific focus regarding regional politics.
Consulting/Teacher Training: Sandberg was a consultant to alternative high school programs in the 1970s. In the 1980s, she consulted for public and private high schools in Connecticut regarding curriculum development. Sandberg has conducted week-long teacher education development workshops for Ohio public and private high school teachers interested in global affairs. She has consulted in Southern Africa for government officials tasked with improving higher education. She has consulted in the United States with Deans and University-level committees rethinking the educational mission of various aspects of their curriculum or evaluating the goals and efficacy of educational programs and departments.
Academic Service: Sandberg has served on numerous appointed and elected committees at Yale University, Columbia University and Oberlin College. Such committees included hiring and firing of personnel, educational planning and policies, recruitment of faculty and students, thesis proposal evaluations, programmatic initiatives, administrator searches, and departmental reviews. Additionally, Sandberg served as the Assistant Director of the African Studies Institute at Columbia University (1988-1990), where she was involved in a variety of duties related to degree certification, advising, fund raising, program initiatives, publications, and intern placement. Most recently, Sandberg has been involved with Service and Learning courses/ Civic Education courses that connect applied student academic research with local community partners in need of such research. She is a founder and has taught in the Oberlin Initiative in Electoral Politics (OIEP) since 1993. Most recently, she is involved in academic initiatives supporting young entrepreneurs.
